About
Variation across Contexts
This page examines how I adjusted my writing style, tone, and form across different contexts and assignments in ENC1101. I reflect on how audience, purpose, and genre shaped the choices I made as a writer.

Reflection
This assignment helped me achieve the Variation across Contexts course outcome because it made me analyze how communication changes depending on the community. Before writing this paper, I never thought about my soccer team’s GroupMe chat as a genre. As I wrote, I realized our team has its own communication style, expectations, and values that help everyone stay organized. This assignment showed me that different communities communicate in different ways, and understanding those patterns can help me communicate better when joining new groups.
Revision Reflection
After reading my teacher’s feedback, I revised my paper by adding more about my team’s goals and values. I also expanded my conclusion so it better explained what I learned from studying genres and how I can use that knowledge in the future. These changes made my paper more complete while keeping my original ideas.
